Favorite Chili
from Favorites2 lbs ground beef
2 onions, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 (16 oz) cans kidney beans, undrained
1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
2 (16 oz) cans chili beans, undrained
2 pkgs chili seasoning (or 4-6 tsp chili powder)
1 tsp basil
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
Brown ground beef in large pan. Drain fat and add onions, garlic and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes. Add rest of ingredients, bring to a boil and then turn to low heat and simmer for at least 2 hours. (Add a little water if it gets too dry.)
**Perfect served with corn bread!!
